While A Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Halloween and Texas Chain Saw Massacrehave all been remade, Universal’s Child’s Play franchise continues to remain in-Canon, even though the 2013 Curse of Chucky went straight to VOD. Don Mancini, who created the Child’s Play franchise and directed the previous two entries, has always been vocal that he intends on making a seventh film.In fact, the last we heard was almost exactly one year ago when Mancini told a fan that he was currently penning the next sequel.
Just the other day things got interesting when Mancini tweeted out to Jennifer Tilly – who first made an appearance in the 1998 classic Bride of Chucky as Chucky’s partner in crime, Tiffany – asking if they should film the next Chucky in Capetown. Tilly playfully responded, pointing out that the crews are great out there, as well as the weather. Chucky is one of the most iconic of all horror slashers. He first appeared in Tom Holland’s 1988 Child’s Play, which was penned by Mancini. Things came full circle in Curse of Chucky when Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) presumably got his revenge, while Tiffany made a shocking appearance in human form. How will it all come together? That’s what we have to look forward to with Child’s Play 7. Hopefully there will be an officially announcement soon. Watch here for updates.
